🇺🇸🇺🇿 Strengthening U.S.-Uzbekistan cooperation in critical minerals.

Ambassador Henick visited the newly established Center of Excellence in Geology and Mining at the University of Geological Sciences in Tashkent, which is partnering with the Colorado School of Mines to advance the Uzbekistan’s mining sector.

Building on an agreement announced during Secretary Rubio’s visit to Samarkand, American and Uzbek experts will collaborate on up to $9 million in projects to explore mineral resources, improve mining operations, and develop technical expertise. This cooperation brings American innovation to Uzbekistan, supports more secure critical minerals supply chains, and advances shared economic opportunities under the U.S.-Uzbekistan strategic partnership.
