Telegram post media 🇷🇺 Key takeaways by Russian President Vladimir Putin from press conference following Third Russia–Africa Summit

🔷 Hosting events on such a scale has become a good tradition and clearly demonstrates the firm determination of both Russia and African states to further strengthen and build multilateral ties in the spirit of genuine partnership and mutual respect for the sake of universal growth and prosperity.

🔷 The summit brought together 21 African leaders.

🔷 The motto of the current summit was “For Peace, Security and Development”. It has essentially determined the course and themes of discussions.

🔷 A wide range of issues concerning Russian-African interaction in politics, economy and humanitarian sphere were discussed.

🔷 Almost 40,000 Africans are already studying at Russian universities. This is a record number.

🔷 African countries have been nothing but friends to Russia throughout history.

🔷 The results of productive joint work have been summarised and approved by the summit in the Declaration of the Third Russia–Africa Summit.

🔷 A list of specific tasks for developing Russia’s ties with African states in economic, commercial, social and humanitarian spheres is set out in the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum Action Plan through 2029.

🔷 The current trade volume of $27 billion a year is not the limit, but rather the beginning of the journey.

🔷 Eurasian organisations are ready to work with their pan-African counterparts.

🔷 The share of national currencies in financial settlements between Russia and African countries stands at 85%.

🔷 Russia will remain a responsible supplier of grain to Africa, providing it both under commercial contracts and on a gratuitous basis.

🔷 Russia will increase the supply of effective medicines to Africa.

🔷 Large-scale projects in the energy sector are being implemented with the involvement of Russian companies.

🔷 Russia and African countries are determined to continue working together to boost mutual trade and remove remaining trade barriers.

🔷 A wide range of bilateral documents have been signed, aimed at deepening industrial cooperation, implementing information and communications projects, and introducing innovative Russian digital solutions, including AI-based ones.

🔷 African countries are showing considerable interest in both large and small-capacity nuclear power plants.

🔷 African partners have supported the idea of expanding the network of branches of Russian universities in their countries, creating new educational centres to promote the Russian language, science and culture.

🔷 International institutions require reform, and Russia supports African countries in this regard.

🔷 Russia and Africa are natural partners in shaping a fairer multipolar world.

🔷 Russia is sincerely committed to building a truly strategic and multifaceted partnership with Africa.

🔷 The Third Russia–Africa Summit was a success and will undoubtedly give a powerful boost to the development of Russia–Africa cooperation.

🔷 The decisions adopted today will be implemented systematically, including through the Partnership Forum, bringing together sectoral agencies, business, civil society and expert communities of Russia and African countries.

🌺 CEO of Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev spoke about priority tasks facing organisers of Russia’s largest business events

“Above all, we are focused on helping our participants achieve their goals — pragmatic goals, such as making new contacts. It is about continuing the dialogue on projects begun at our previous events, but above all about helping them move along the path to success,”

Alexander Stuglev said in an interview with Youm7, one of Egypt’s most popular and influential media.

This applies to all events. Particular topics are discussed in advance at other venues so that the dialogue and work on projects can then continue.

“Turning specifically to the preparation of the Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, held alongside the summit, we organise this event for several years now and prepare it thoroughly, including through sessions at SPIEF,”

stressed Alexander Stuglev.

He also spoke about preparations for 30th anniversary SPIEF.

“For the Roscongress Foundation, this is an important milestone that allows us not only to take stock of many years of work but also to identify the forum’s future development priorities,”

emphasised Alexander Stuglev.

Telegram post media 🌅 Key takeaways from press conference on Third Russia–Africa Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum outcomes given by Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov

🔷 Russian President Vladimir Putin described Africa as ‘the continent of the future’.

🔷 Over 3,500 people took part in the forum.

🔷 Success of the current summit, relative to previous ones, is defined by cooperation with Africa moving towards concrete practical projects.

🔷 Russia respects the right of African states to have their own interests and to choose their partners.

🔷 Russia welcomes and is pursuing the shift from bilateral forms of cooperation to broad, systemic engagement across the continent within a number of intergovernmental bodies.

🔷 Today Africa is sharply increasing its geo-economic weight and playing an increasingly prominent role in many integration processes.

🔷 Global trade depends to a large extent on stability in Africa. Africa is a vital link in global logistics.

🔷 Demographic growth in Africa will become an economic advantage only with investment in human capital.

🔷 Africa’s demographic growth is supported by Russia’s efforts in the field of medical and epidemiological safety.

🔷 Africa’s economy is growing at more than 4–4.5% a year, well ahead of Western countries.

🔷 It is evident that no single, universal economic development strategy can exist for the African continent as a whole.

🔷 Education is the most important area of Russia–Africa cooperation. More than 40,000 African students are currently studying in Russia.

🔷 African countries expect Russia to help ensure their security and protect their sovereignty, and to work with them on building value chains.

🔷 African countries are prepared for industrial cooperation with Russia and for the industrialisation of their own economies.

🔷 Africa has the potential to ensure its own food security.

🔷 Military and technical cooperation has been and remains a key element of Russia–Africa interaction.
