[15/09, 10:28] +60 19-868 3085: Dear all, we would like to invite all to join COPE BEST 2022. Up to 6 ST CDP 👆
I must thank all who attended the forum especially Mr. Razali Abu Bakar , Ir. Gopal Narian Kutty and Mr. Phu Lee Ming as our guest expert panelists for their insightful sharing.
My key takeways from the forum today.
1.The introduction of the EE&C Act in Malaysia must not be delayed further. Many countries including in ASEAN already having it and proven successful in driving EE as one of the key tools.
2.After over 30 years of awareness and promotional activities through voluntary initiaves and programs plus some minimal legal requirements by the government, now is the suitable time to have something more prescriptive in the mandatory requirements with the new act.
3.The target of the new act is more on large energy users when in comes to reporting requirements and in the goverment won't interfere with their business activities.
4.Awareness on EE is a must among business leaders to take actions and not only during bad times in business.
5.The new act must come with needed and clear guideliness in its enforcement later.
6.We need national EE policy to have more nationally driven EE programs with common goals in private and government sectors.
7.Financial institutions need capacity building for their personnel to evaluate EE projects for financing purposes.Must be led by the government to educate banks on EE projects.
8.Malaysia has some existing EE related plans such as National EE Action Plan and Green Technology Roadmap but the lack of clear laws making them harder to be fully implemented.
You can watch the full session in the video below and kindly share with others to create more awareness about the long overdue and much awaited EE & C Act for Malaysia.
